There’s a problem with that venn diagram. It should be ALMOST a circle with just a teeny tiny sliver that isn’t scum.
Since some people can’t seem to get it, someone drew a picture for you. Do you get it now? Sheesh.

I don’t like the idea of people thinking “Okay good Die Cis Scum is only directed at the bad cis people, I’m a good cis person.”Whether or not you are overtly cissexist or transmisogynistic, you still benefit from institutionalized cissexism and transmisogyny. Since you’ve been raised cis in a cis supremacist area, you are probably also covertly cissexist/transmisogynistic.Die Cis Scum, to me, does not target people at all, it targets cis supremacist power structures. And all cis people benefit from them, not just “the bad ones”. When you resolve that die cis scum doesn’t target you, you wipe yourself clean of the responsibility you have as a cis person to be accountable for your group’s violent actions towards trans people.
Can’t agree. Aiming it at ‘power structures’ is just as “get off the hook” for cis people as individuals as it is for cis people to judge themselves ‘good’. Yes, the structures are bad, yes, all cis people benefit from transphobia and cissexism, but Die Cis Scum is not about structures. It’s about the cis people who are utter shitheads and I totally claim my right to identify them as cis scum and refuse to give that up. Cis people already let themselves off the hook. Claiming that my correctly identifying them as scum lets them do it is missing the point entirely. Die Cis Scum is entirely for trans people and is for our entirely justified trans rage at the people who hurt us. Making it about the cis people or even cis power structures re-centres it on cis people which is so not the fucking point.
[Observant people will note that similar arguments can and have be used by women, people of colour, disabled people, etc for claiming their power and rage.]
